I became a doctor because
I believe in the joy of life...
I love this picture because it represents that, to me.
These are my kids, having fun and loving life. We weren't
always there as a family, though. In fact, soon after beginning our
family, it was clear that something wasn't quite right with our
new baby. He was incredibly irritable, and he wasn't hitting
milestones on time. Things only got worse as he moved through
his well-child visits. But it wasn't until he was 2 years old, just after
our twins were born, that I knew something was definitely wrong.
Things got even more complicated a few years later when I was
expecting our 4th child, and our twins began showing signs of
worsening speech delays. So there I was, soon to be a mother of 4,
frantic about my children's health. I spent months looking fruitlessly
for a doctor to help my three children, finally finding an amazing
holistic physician who partnered with us to heal our children - so
they could be everything we knew they could be.
But then we moved to Seattle, and I soon realized it was way too hard to find that kind of health partner here. I was so inspired by that wonderful physician who'd helped my kids, and so frustrated by the difficulty of finding someone like her in Seattle, that I decided to enter Bastyr University's Naturopathic Medicine program so I could become that caring physician, and help other families bring back their health and happiness, too.
I look forward to meeting you. Let's get to work. Together we can optimize your health and return your joy of life -- because everyone at every age deserves it.
